HAL takes 10.37% interest in Van Ommeren

Rotterdam, 15 September 1999.
Koninklijke Van Ommeren NV announces that it has, in view of the Dutch Major Holdings Disclosure Act (WMZ), received notice from HAL Holding NV, that the latter has acquired a stake of 10.37% in the capital of Van Ommeren.

Van Ommeren, with its widely-spread global terminal network, is one of the three largest tank storage companies in the world. The company combines high-grade tank storage with tanker shipping, tank container operations and a network of agency and forwarding offices. In 1998 Van Ommeren achieved a net turnover of EUR 343.6 million and a net profit of EUR 68.2 million.
On 5 July 1999 Van Ommeren and Pakhoed announced the intention to merge. Both companies expect to effectuate the legal merger in mid-October.
