After a Sangguniang Panlalawigan joint committee hearing on complaints of postal users, investigators learned the sad truth: the Philpost is undermanned and has to sacrifice some of its courier service operations resulting in delayed mail deliveries.

Admitting the corporation has significantly been paralysed after only nine men are left of its 22 men manning the mails, Philpost head Felix Gablines reported too that the government agency is losing in terms of revenues in its past operations.

Republic Act 7354 governs the operations of the Philpost, and SP legislators may have to lobby for an amendment of the law, which may allow the government to subsidise its postal services operations.
