DHL loses Bank of Uganda contract

DHL has lost its contract with Bank of Uganda (BoU) to DAKS Courier. The contract, which commenced on 1 July, includes handling requests for pick-ups and delivery of documents and goods for BoU across the world.

David Kasingwire, the managing director of DAKS, said winning the competitive contract was a sign of their competence.

“We are capable of tracking full visibility of the movement of packages tendered to us through automatic notifications by e-mail as opposed to tracking of the documents on the website. The client is notified at every stage up to the point of delivery,” Kasingwire said.

He said the company had upgraded its courier system to international standards.

DAKS owns the local lucrative franchise of UPS.

Established in 1999, DAKS Courier has evolved to become one of the leading companies in courier transportation, clearing and forwarding, ware housing and distribution.
