DHgate teams up with UPS

DHgate, a Chinese B2B service provider, has joined forces with UPS to help domestic small and midsize suppliers march into the global market, reports Trading Markets. The article continues:

Both sides reached an agreement in July. Their cooperation will simultaneously lower costs for buyers and sellers, according to DHgate CEO Diane Wang. The logistics costs of sellers will be reduced by 70% or even more.

Wang believes that the cooperation will benefit both. DHgate will reduce costs for both buyers and sellers by making full use of UPS’ wide logistic network. Meanwhile, it will provide more orders for the express delivery giant.

The chief product officer of DHgate says that UPS’ success is based on its strong IT backup and it will learn rich management experience from its foreign partner.

In the first half of 2009, DHgate got a turnover of CNY 1 bn. Currently, the number of its buyers approaches 3m in 230 countries and territories around the world, and the number of its domestic sellers 400,000.
