ViaPostal Moves on Spanish Postal Market

ViaPostal said it aims to take between 35% and 40% of the liberalized sectors of the Spanish postal market by 2005, investing 40 billion pesetas (EUR1=ESP166.386) and employing over 4,000 workers. The company is hoping to cash in on the gradual opening of the Spanish postal market to competition.” Beresford says, ViaPostal will initially focus on the direct marketing sector. By 2005, viaPostal predicts it will be making over 6 million deliveries every day, and forecasts it will reach an annual turnover in excess of ESP50 billion. ViaPostal will start up in May
