Maersk Logistics USA Inc. announces O’Neill & Whitaker acquisition

Customs Brokerage Services now Integrated into Service Package

Madison, NJ and Kansas City, MO, June 4, 2001. Maersk Logistics USA Inc. announces the acquisition of O’Neill & Whitaker, a leading Midwest-based Licensed Customs House Broker/Freight Forwarder with an active client list of successful companies and a leader in US Customs automation efforts.

“O’Neill & Whitaker is a very well run, profitable company poised for long-term growth that we have been impressed with for some time now. Their client support services, talented people, office network and leadership in the US Customs community with automation efforts were important considerations shaping our new team. Equally important, their services will broaden our client service portfolio by offering direct US Customs interface capabilities – especially important to total visibility in the supply chain” stated Anthony A. Chiarello, President of Maersk Logistics USA Inc.

“Customs Brokerage services have been an increasing request from many of our customers as they seek to streamline their supply chains and eliminate handoffs between vendors. This was the logical next step towards offering clients an integrated logistics service” added Jim Percival, President, O’Neill & Whitaker Inc. a subsidiary of Maersk Logistics USA Inc.

“We are very impressed with the culture of Maersk Logistics. Their priority is the client and we believe that we will be a great team. Our clients will benefit from the added resources Maersk Logistics brings to the table“ commented John Whitaker of O’Neill & Whitaker.

“Our dedicated purpose as an organization is to provide unique, client specific, support services; we are very excited about expanding our capabilities and we are most proud to join the Maersk Logistics family, whose standards of service we respect and will strive to meet and exceed” added Michael O’Neill of O’Neill and Whitaker

The transaction was completed for an undisclosed price.
