Bring Citymail signs sorter deal with Pitney Bowes

Swedish private postal operator Bring Citymail has signed a deal with Pitney Bowes to use the company’s high speed sorter Vantage.

Bring Citymail said the sorter will generate new business through the processing of unsorted letters, resulting in a more competitive service for its customers.

Until now, the processing of high volumes of unsorted letters and office mail has been without real competition in Sweden.

Pitney Bowes Vantage is able to sort up to 45,000 mailpieces and business flats per hour, the company said.

Henrik Jonsson, project manager at Bring Citymail, said: “This investment…opens up a new market for us and enables us to provide our customers with choice and best-value around the processing of unsorted mail.”

Stefan Berndt, product manager sortation at Pitney Bowes, added: “With the launch of The Vantage we are offering mailers the precise level of modularity and flexibility required to maximise the opportunities afforded by today’s competitive marketplace. We are delighted to supply Bring Citymail with this industry-leading solution.”

Bring Citymail is the main challenger to Sweden’s national postal operator, delivering to around 2.5m households in Sweden. The company specialises in industrial post for business customers.
