TNT integrates Chinese service with Asia Road Network

TNT Express said today it has successfully integrated its Chinese day-definite domestic road network with its international Asia Road Network, after a year of testing.
The Chinese network, operated by its TNT Hoau unit, joins the Asia network to set up coverage across China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

It will mean providing door-to-door freight import and export to TNT customers throughout China and Southeast Asia, the company said.

Marie-Christine Lombard, CEO of TNT Express, said: “With the integration of TNT’s two major road networks in Asia, we will strengthen our position in this market, whilst providing our customers with a cost-effective delivery solution complementary to air freight delivery.”

TNT Express offers international and domestic delivery services to, from and within China.

It says its Day Definite road freight service in China is up to half the cost of air freight, taking just one to three days more to arrive.

Customers in the high-tech, automation and industrial manufacturing sectors are particular users of the service, which now comprises 492 roat routes, covering 209 large and mid-sized cities in China.

The company has been providing its Asia Road Network since 2005.

The network means TNT Express can deliver Chinese goods to 127 cities within Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore within one to four days.
