Swiss Post Solutions expands in Asia with Singapore office
Swiss Post Solutions, the business services division of the Swiss postal service, has expanded its presence in the Asian market by opening a new office in Singapore. The company said clients particularly within the financial sector were increasingly focusing on the Asian region, and that the new office would provide added support to those customers operating in the area.
Thew new office builds on a presence that includes Swiss Post Solutions document processing centres in Vietnam, where more than 1,000 staff are based in the Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho areas.
Markus J Becker (pictured above right), CEO for International and Global Clients at SPS, said: “Singapore is a key cornerstone to establishing a solid presence in Asia in the next three to five years. Singapore is part of our long-term strategy to proactively grow selected markets, and be a true tier-one service partner to our clients.”
Global presence
SPS, which employs 6,000 people around the world, is currently building its presence in the global marketplace by developing its corporate information services – including mailroom and office services, document processing and records management – along with its customer interaction management offerings, which include document output, billing, payment and loyalty marketing services.
It is these document-related services that SPS Singapore will focus on delivering, together with ePostal services (security and identity solutions as well as hybrid mail including Swiss Post Box) to clients, the company said.
The new Singapore operation will be headed up by Dimitri Getsios, who has over 12 years experience in the outsourcing sector, serving as a member of the Swiss Management Board at IT Outsourcing firm EDS.
Getsios said: “Singapore is one of the main Asia Pacific locations for the head offices of large international companies, and many of our existing global clients, particularly from UK and US financial industries, are based here.
“Singapore is also a perfect location to service key metropolitan areas in the region, such as Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo. It’s from this hub that we can truly transform our clients’ business processes, accelerating top line growth through innovative end-to-end corporate information and customer interaction solutions,” he added.
