Amtrak maintains ambition as MD steps down

Will Odling has stepped down suddenly from his position as MD of Amtrak Express Parcels. No replacement has been announced yet and the companuy has said that executive chairman Les Cullen would: maintain a close and active role, in the interim.
The franchise network has more than 100 depots and a turnover of £70m. In a statement Amtrak said: The management team maintains its ambitious programme to build further as a market leader.
Amtrak, backed by venture capital company 3i, acquired Nightspeed in 1999 but decided last year against merging the 2 businesses. In August this year, Amtrak announced a co-operation agreement with Skynet Worldwide Express to give export customers a faster service to more than 180 countries.
