Post Denmark will opening another 150 post offices across the country by Christmas. 75 of the new post offices will be opened at OK Plus stations, while the remaining 75 will be going to be in stores in the Coop chain, Danish Supermarket and the Federation of Shopkeepers.
The new post offices will enable customers to take advantage of the stores long opening hours to retrieve and send packets. When the 150 post offices are ready, Post Denmark will have more than 1,400 distribution points – the highest in the country.
“We are the Danish favorite parcel service and are constantly working to make it easy to retrieve and send packages and letters from us,” says Jørgen Fischer, Head of Post Offices in Post Denmark. “With the 150 new post offices cements our leadership position in the parcels market as the distributor that can offer customers most dispensaries and the best accessibility,” he adds.
In the new post offices, customers will be able to buy stamps and retrieve and send both parcels and letters.
“To have a strong distribution network will be an incredibly important competitive factor in an e-commerce market, where more and more packages ordered for direct pickup at a post office or in a parcel locker,” says Mr Fischer.
The company report that the first of the new post offices have already opened their doors, and all will be ready to use during the Christmas season in which they are expecting record volumes of online trading.
