Belgacom, Belgian Post Partner on e-Security

Telecommunications operator Belgacom said on Monday it was creating a joint venture with the Belgian Post Office, through which they will work together on creating products and services for Internet security. The companies will each hold 50 percent of the joint venture, which will be up and running during the second half of this year. Under the joint venture, the Belgian Post office will transfer 100 percent of its subsidiary e-Services, and Belgacom will bring its E-Trust unit, the two companies said in a statement. The joint venture will be headed up by the Post’s chief executive of e-Services, Erik Weytjens.
