US food delivery company Munchery expands network

Munchery is expanding its network on the US West and East Coasts. Munchery, which is already operating from its San Francisco base and in Seattle on the West Coast, launched in New York’s Manhattan last month and is set to move into Brooklyn in mid-May. The company plans to launch in Los Angeles later this year.

Established in 2011 by co-founders Tri Tran and Conrad Chu, Munchery has raised $32 million to date, with $28 million led by Sherpa Ventures and $4 million by Eventures.

While competitors like Seamless enable user to order food from a variety of restaurants within a given delivery range, Munchery delivers food produced by its own chefs.
