Hornby opts for DPD

Hornby – the company which is famous for making model trains, in addition to other collectibles – has announced that it will be working with parcel delivery company DPD. DPD will replace UK Mail as Hornby’s main UK delivery service.

In addition to its traditional delivery service, DPD recently launched its new ‘Pickup’ initiative, which will give consumers the opportunity to collect their online orders from a range of retail locations across the UK.

This network includes Doddle’s parcel shops, most of which are located at high-footfall UK train stations. This opens up the possibility that model train enthusiasts will be able to pick up their newly-purchased scaled-down locomotives and carriages when they visit the real-life rail network.
