Doddle opens new parcel store

Doddle has announced the opening of its latest parcel store in Surbiton, south-west London. The new store is on the high street opposite Surbiton train station which, said Doddle, means it is “perfectly positioned to serve the 4.5 million passengers who make their journey through Surbiton every year”. The new store includes a changing room facility, allowing customers to try on their purchases in-store and return or exchange items on the spot.

To mark the launch of the new store, Doddle is running a special promotion for Surbiton customers, offering them the chance to collect up to 20 parcels and send up to 20 parcels within the UK, for free, for two weeks from Monday (3 August).

Surbiton is the latest in Doddle’s store roll-out programme which will see up to 100 stores open by the end of 2015. Doddle plans to open up to 250 new locations by the end of 2017. The company is also trialling a new system using “neighbourhood agents”, who will collect and pass on parcels from their homes.

Meanwhile, Doddle has also announced the launch of its new “Doddle Runner” app in London today. Currently restricted to London EC1-EC4 areas but set to be more widely available soon, the service allows users to call up specially trained Doddle Runners to their “desk, home or even café” to collect their parcels and send them on to their chosen destination.
