Planning commission green lights plans for FedEx Connecticut hub

FedEx Ground’s proposals for a new distribution centre in Connecticut have been approved by the Middletown Planning and Zoning commission. As previously reported, the logistics company is looking to build a 500,000-square-foot facility on a site currently occupied by a former Aetna office complex, most of which has been demolished.

The facility will serve as hub for the New England region.

At its meeting on Tuesday (12 August), the commission unanimously approved FedEx Ground’s request for a special exception for the development of the facility and a four-lot industrial subdivision at the former Aetna headquarters.
