Amazon reportedly looking to ramp up Munich operations

Amazon has been preparing to ramp up its activities in Munich, according to local sources. A report published by local newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung yesterday said that Amazon has been setting up two new distribution centres – one in Olching and one in Munich itself – which are scheduled to come into operation in 2016.

The newspaper also said that Amazon was looking to use the centres to extend its Prime same-day delivery service in the region.

Amazon declined to confirm the reports.
