Doddle reports surge in corporate membership

Doddle has reported that it has seen significant growth in corporate memberships for its parcel store services, as employees look to avoid missed deliveries and their employers seek to relieve the pressure on their mailrooms. Busy office workers cannot afford to stay home to wait for their deliveries, and so many will instead opt to get their parcels delivery to their office. However, a number of large employers in London are no longer permitting personal deliveries to the workplace because of the strain they place on the mailroom.

Doddle claims that a corporate membership for its parcel stores is a “quick and timely solution” to this problem.

“More than 100 firms offering employees Doddle memberships to ease mailroom pressure,” claimed Doddle in a statement issued today (10 December).

“Corporate membership has grown by 326% between October and November,” added Doddle, “This accounts for 15% of all new members.

“Since opening in Canary Wharf in August, Doddle has established a loyal customer base, with parcel volumes growing on average by more than 33% week on week. In the last fortnight these volumes have been boosted by employees taking advantage of online sales offered in the lead up to and following Black Friday.”

Doddle quoted figures provided by Canary Wharf Group which indicate that One Canada Square receives on average 450 deliveries every 24 hours.

Matt Maer, Director Group Security, Canary Wharf Group said; “Doddle really helps to relieve the pressure on busy corporate post rooms here at Canary Wharf, especially at high seasons, by offering a service processing high volumes of parcels. We’re pleased that they are on board.”

Tim Robinson, Doddle CEO, added: “The dramatic increase in parcel volumes at this time of year presents a major challenge for employers. On one hand they are doing their best to offer a valuable employee benefit but at the same time balance the added resource costs that come with accepting personal deliveries.

“It doesn’t have to be costly to maintain employee parcel benefits. We’re now working with more than 100 firms to reduce the pressure on mailrooms over Christmas and throughout the year, while they provide their employees with a solution to missed deliveries.”
