Shyp sets out price model for packaging services

In a notice posted on its blog yesterday (2 May), Shyp set out its new packaging pricing model. Shyp has been introducing the new pricing model to batches of customers since the start of the year, but as of yesterday it has completed the roll-out and formally set out the structure in the blogpost.

Shyp’s modus operandi is send its couriers to the premise of the parcel sender (who may be an eBay seller, for example) where they pick up the item, and ensure it is “packed by training experts using high quality materials” and then find the best price couriers for the shipment.

The package prices range from $3 for a small, standard parcel to $75 for a fragile, extra large item.  There is also a $5 fee for the at-home pick-up and insurance. Shyp customers can still opt to package their own items and just use Shyp for the at-home pick-up and insurance – in which case they only pay the $5 fee.
