Post Danmark to scrap express mail and Saturday deliveries

Danish MPs have voted in favour of new proposals to scrap Post Danmark’s first-class mail service and end Saturday deliveries. Post Danmark currently offers an “A letter” service for next-day delivery, and a “B letter” service for delivery within three working days. This will be replaced by a single service will offer delivery within five working days.

The MPs also approved a measure to end the Saturday deliveries, which means that Post Danmark will now provide five mail deliveries a week.

The new measures have, of course, been introduced in response to the continuing decline in mail volumes and revenues.
