EPG reports progress on “one-stop shop” strategy

Emirates Post Group has reported that it is seeing progress in its policy of leasing spaces in post offices to private companies. In a statement posted on its website today, EPG said that it is offering space to “other service providers engaged in related and complementary activities”, as part of its strategy to “making post offices one-stop shops for a variety of public services”.

According to EPG: “Since the launch of the new strategy from early 2012, a number of companies have already launched their operations from the post offices, including travel agencies and business centres.”

And now, EPG added: “A number of companies are in the process of signing up for the rented spaces in post offices, including some banks, to enable Emirates Post customers to pay for their shipments and the surrounding community to do cash transactions.”

EPG’s Chief Commercial Officer Ibrahim Bin Karam commented: “Emirates Post seeks to widen the basket of services available to our customers by signing up with private companies.

“We are witnessing a strong demand for the spaces in post offices. However, we are selective in deciding the type of businesses that would be allowed to operate from our premises. Each applicant is considered on a case-by-case basis.”

Companies operating from post offices are required to follow the same working hours as the post offices. Most post offices are open from 8 am to 9 pm; however a few are open only up to 3 pm.
