Jet.com teaming up with smart access provider Latch for NYC trial

Jet.com – the online retailer which was bought by Walmart last year – is reportedly teaming up with the smart access provider Latch for a trial initiative in New York City that will make it easier to deliver packages to people, even when they are not at home. The Latch residential R system enables residents to use their smartphones to give access to the exterior door of their buildings to guests (and delivery personnel).

According to a report published last week on TechCrunch, the system will be available in 1,000 buildings, with the install paid for by a joint investment from Jet.com and Latch.
