Online Lush shoppers can now pay using Bitcoin
Lush Digital UK is now accepting Bitcoin payments for goods purschased online at uk.lush.com. The company, which is both an online retailer and one of the most recognizable brands on the UK highstreet, went live with the digital currency on 11 July.
According to a notice posted on the handmade cosmetic company’s website, the move will “allow payment in a decentralised currency that is unaffected by the global foreign exchange fluctuations, meaning that customers from all over the world all pay the same for a product”.
Lush Finance Manager Mike West commented: “Accepting Bitcoin is very exciting for Lush. With Bitcoin, customers from all around the world will pay the same for our products, free from volatile currency fluctuations and lofty bank charges. Cryptocurrencies are the future of global trade and we want to ensure that we are prepared to move into this new digital era.”
Lush will be working San Francisco-based BitPay, who will be the third party provider for the payment service.
