CouriersPlease opens new depots

Australian parcel delivery service provider CouriersPlease (CP) has opened two new relocated logistics facilities. Located in the $440m logistics hub Drystone Industrial Estate, CP’s new logistics facility in Truganina, Victoria, replaces CP’s Port Melbourne depot. Along with CP’s existing Mulgrave facility, it will provide the business with complete east-west coverage of Melbourne. The site is 29,000 square metres in total, with 12,500 square metres under the roof, and will accommodate over 160 courier vehicles. Additional bay spaces are allocated to accommodate future growth.

The second recently opened logistics facility is located in the inner south-eastern Perth suburb of Welshpool. The new 4,043 square metre site will be the hub of delivery activity for Perth and Western Australia, and will employ nine staff and recruit a further 42 Franchisees.

Featuring a 3,443 square metre warehouse, with a 600 square metre office space – and room to expand a further 2,000 square metres in the future – the logistics facility will allow for greater access directly into the CBD and both north and south of the city. Close to main arterial routes such as Orrong Road, Welshpool Road, Leach Highway and Tonkin highway, delivery drivers will be able to easily navigate Perth and its surrounding areas.

The logistics facilities are two of three that the business has relocated in the last 12 months, to accommodate the increase in parcel numbers. In September last year, CP opened the relocated Brisbane depot in Salisbury. A new Adelaide depot is set to open in Marleston later this year.

Our new Welshpool depot gives us greater coverage of the city and a larger warehouse space for logistics operations, allowing us to bring a better service to our customers. With room for future expansion, we hope to bring more jobs and opportunities to the local community.”
