Midnight Express

Midnight Express

Argos has launched a new “Minute Past Midnight” delivery service, which will bring the latest consoles to London’s gaming enthusiasts at the witching hour on the day of their release. The retailer is kicking off the trial service with the new Xbox One X, which is scheduled to go on sale on 7 November.

Gamers living within London zones 1 – 5 can apply for a limited number of pre-order slots by visiting @Argos_Online on Twitter. According to the T&Cs attached to Argos’ tweet about the new service, applicants will have to register their interest before midnight tonight.

Successful applicants must purchase the Xbox One X at full cost price (£449.00) over the phone. Delivery fee will be waived as part of the trial. And the retailer also says that: “Successful applicants may be required to participate in reasonable post-event media publicity arranged by or on behalf of Argos.”

The Minute Past Midnight pilot is an extension of the retailer’s Fast Track delivery service. According to reports, if the trial is successful, Argos may look to provide a similar service for other product launches, and expand the coverage beyond London.
