Nigerian Netpost begins internet banking

The newly incorporated NETPOST is to commence financial transactions such as E-banking /Internet banking, money transfers as well as offer basic computer/information technology training at its major centres across the country.

NETPOST is a joint venture company between Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), DVI Nigeria Limited (a subsidiary of Development Ventures International, USA) and ABG Nigeria Limited.

A statement signed by the Public Relations Manager of NIPOST, Hussaina Charity Ato, said NETPOST’s base will also include internet surfing, e-mail, voice over IP (Phone Bureau Service – Local and International), NETPOST Home connect- customer dial-up facilities (subscriber access) and Corp Connect-Permanent Internet IP) connectivity to Internet Cafes.

The statement added that NETPOST was incorporated to promote the advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the country through the provision of Electronic Mail Service to NIPOST’S traditional counter services.

The new company will also provide the EMS speed post the ability to electronically track letters and packages sent by NIPOST customers.
