Sweden Post To Begin Operations In Australia

Sweden’s Posten AB intends to take up business operations on the Australian letter market in conjunction with the UPS subsidiary Mailboxes Etc. (MBE). Last week saw the announcement of a co-operation between Direct Link, a subsidiary specialising in international mail, and MBE. Started under the name of MBE I-Mail, the co-operation intends to focus on customers with smaller volumes of international mail, while major customers will be acquired from the Swedish post directly, as before. Market observers believe that the two companies could extend the business model into other markets.
