eBay Australia’s third party fulfilment policy

eBay Australia’s third party fulfilment policy

eBay Australia’s guidelines to sellers now stipulate that they may not use a third party provider to fulfil eBay orders on their behalf when “the third party is another retailer or marketplace, such as Amazon”.

As the UK news service Tamebay pointed out this morning: “It’s not just Amazon, but it’s surely no coincidence that the edict comes out just as FBA becomes available in Australia?”

The eBay notice said that the policy is in place because: “We don’t allow third party fulfilment in situations where it could be confusing for eBay customers.”

It added that sellers can use a third party when authorised by eBay or when “you are clearly identified as the seller on all packing slips and invoices, and you ensure the safe fulfilment of the item within the terms stated in your listing”.
