Thailand Post launches franchise system

The Thailand Post Company Limited in affiliation with Ek-Chai Distribution System Company Limited have launched their first franchise post offices.

Minister of Information and Communication Technology Surapong Suebwonglee presided over the opening ceremony of the first franchise post office at Tesco Lotus Supermarket, Prachachuen branch.

Mr. Surapong said during the opening ceremony that Thailand Post Co., Ltd. has moved a step forward as a leader in postal services in the region. The company is focusing on service development, with the automatic post system or “CA POS”.

Managing Director of Thailand Post Terapong Suthinon said that the company has opened 12 franchise post offices nation-wide. The two offices at Tesco Lotus Prachachuen and Nakhon Pathom branches are running with an on-line system, with the budget of 700,000 baht. The other 10 branches are without the on-line system. It should take three months to evaluate the performances of the franchise post offices. After that, the company can decide the price for further franchises. Interested entrepreneurs should be able to purchase the franchise in the future.

The prices of services provided at the Thailand Post franchisees will be the same as the normal post offices prices. However, the opening hours will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
