UCI Logistics for Jaguar

UCI Logistics has won a contract to give logistics support to Pirelli in the supply of wheel and tyre assemblies for Jaguar X-Type manufacturing. UCI will collect alloy wheels from Reynolds in Italy and deliver by road or rail to Burton-on-Trent where the tyres are fitted. Next, UCI will take the complete assemblies to Pirelli’s warehouse at Halewood using a dedicated road shuttle service. At the Halewood site UCI takes responsibility for supplying 12 assembly types to the Jaguar X-Type line.

Synergy is the key as Danzas looks ahead

Danzas, the world’s biggest air freight forwarder, will improve its performance as the market returns to growth in the second half and through cross-selling with DHL. Despite last year ‘s slump in air freight volumes and the slower than expected integration of AEI, Danzas increased its sales by 10.4% to Euro 9.15bn.

And margin improvements achieved through the rapid growth of its Solutions logistics business helped pre-tax profits 40.7% higher at Euro 159m.

Royal Mail Service Lets Mailers Pre-book Mailings

Royal Mail has released details of a new booking center service that allows advertisers and their agencies or mailing houses to register upcoming activity and get a unit cost for their specific mailings.
Royal Mail said this lets advertisers more accurately calculate the cost of mailing as part of the campaign. The agency said the cost of the package depends on three key considerations: The size and weight of the items; when they need to be delivered; and the number of items. Mailings can be booked with a range of delivery options from next day to seven days.
