The companies Lacchi SpA and Mazzoni SpA have transferred, respectively, the branch dedicated to long-distance postage transport for Poste Italiane to Lacchi Trasporti Postali and Trasporti e Logistica Postale.
The total turnover of the branches involved last year totalled around L16bn (Lacchi SpA) and around L22bn (Mazzoni SpA).

[Austrian Post is not a freight forwarder and has no intention of turning into one], Join Kaniak, director of Austrian Post’s logistics and distribution department, explained in an interview with the ITJ in Vienna. Quite on the contrary:
as plans to systematically outsource its logistics services to external partners in the medium term. Kaniak has potential partners in mind who are willing to contribute capital and know-how to satisfy the special logistics needs of Austrian Post.
The French Mory Group has started a partnership with the British firm Europa European Express in the trade with the UK and Ireland. it has also taken over the French Company Europa SCA Express with branches in Lyon, Nice, Roissy and Toulouse (Express group services, logistics for high-tech goods).
