The United Pallet Network (UK) says it has seen 217% growth in the number of pallets moved over the past year.
Speaking at the group’s second annual conference last weekend, managing director Andrew Spenser said he is delighted with the progress it has made since its launch in 2001, and moving from its original base in Nottinghamshire to its new hub in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
United Pallet Network told a member conference last Saturday that it will start a payment guarantee scheme called UPN (Safeguard) that will protect members from bad debts from other members.

The practice of giving bulk discounts to small business already exists but is not written into legislation.
The new laws also allow document exchanges to carry letters between their members’ premises and the exchange, again legitimising an existing practice many small businesses use as a complementary service to Australia Post.
