TNT to establish depot at Seoul's Incheon Int Airport

Multinational logistics firm TNT is planning to use Incheon International Airport as the base for its operations in northern Asia, South Korea’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority said.

The provider of express delivery services and logistics supply chain solutions has revealed its intention to invest €7 million (US$8.4 million) in building a base depot on 6,930 square meters of land near the airport by the latter half of 2005, the government agency said.

London's courier companies trial QuikTrak Networks technology

QuikTrak Networks plc, the secure tracking and data messaging network operator, has announced that four further leading London courier companies have started to trial the QuikTrak technology. This follows some highly successful trials by Addison Lee, one of London’s largest taxi and courier companies.

Pegasus Couriers, Anderson Young Couriers, Urgent Couriers and Greyhound Couriers have all started to pilot QuikTrak’s unique real-time tracking technology for use in fleet management applications.

FedEx to expand Thailand van fleet

Federal Express Corp plans to expand its Thai van fleet next year to cope with growing demand. The expansion will be supported by the export sector, which has sizeable potential for growth, said Clifton Chua, the global courier’s managing director for Thailand, Indochina and the Philippines. FedEx currently operates 41 vans and 44 motorcycles in Thailand, as well as 12 flights per day out of Bangkok International Airport.

TNT Logistics signs Italy contracts

TNT Logistics announced that its Italian unit has signed two major contracts.
The first one, with T.R.S. Evolution S.p.A., a division of the Trussardi Group, marks TNT’s debut in Italy’s luxury goods sector. Trussardi produces bags, suitcases, small leather goods and clothing. TNT also received a contract from Giochi Preziosi, a toy producer, to provide logistics management for all of its products.

FedEx launches five-time weekly Hong Kong to Paris flights

FedEx Express, a unit of FedEx Corp, has launched a five times a week Hong Kong-Paris service, with refueling stops in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The new service provides customers from mainland China the convenience of second working day delivery of items to major European destinations, FedEx said.
