DHL handled 7.1 mln international packages in Germany last year, down 4 pct from 7.4 mln in the year-earlier period, according to internal company statistics obtained by Manager Magazine. In an advance release of an article to appear in this week’s edition, the magazine also said that rivals United Parcel Service and Fedex increased their shipments in the German market by 9 pct.

Parcels processed through the retail chain would be delivered to addresses in France and the EU within 24 hours, and within two days to most international destinations.
