DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, has enhanced its Time Definite Delivery (TDD) service across Asia and the Pacific region as demand increases for such services.

In a statement, DHL said TDD service, which offers the latest possible collection times for guaranteed early next-day deliveries, would be expanded to include declared-value packages up to a certain limit. It said TDD, which comprises of StartDay Express offering next day door-to-door delivery by 9am and MidDay Express which offers next day door-to-door delivery by noon, previously only catered to documents.

Logistics firm DHL Express has increased payload capacity on its dedicated Hong Kong-Shanghai and Hong Kong-Manila services in response to increasing demand and surging intra-Asia shipment volumes. On June 21, DHL upgraded the payload capacity of the Hong Kong-Manila service, now operated by an Airbus A330-300 passenger aircraft four times weekly, from Monday to Thursday. The A330-300 passenger aircraft has a lower deck capacity of about 20 tons in various container and pallet configurations.

On June 16, capacity on the Hong-Kong Shanghai service was also increased by 60%, and began to be operated by an Airbus A300B4 freighter with a capacity of 35 tons. The aircraft can accommodate 18 main deck pallets and up to 20 lower deck containers.
