DHL raises stake in Air Hong Kong to 40%
DHL Worldwide Express (DHL) announced yesterday it had purchased a 10 per cent stake in Air Hong Kong from Maplebeck, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific Airways.

DHL brand to run Danzas and Euro Express after Deutsche Post Germany takeover
Customers and employees of Deutsche Post will have to get used to changes. The Bonn-based group is completely restructuring its packaging and logistics division following the takeover by express delivery company DHL. In future, the companies Danzas and Euro Express will be run under the control of the DHL brand.

On a low sales volume of around 4 million items the turnover went up to 98.14m euros, which represents a 1.6% increase compared to 2001. The net profit went up by 9.4%. Further details would not be revealed, a company spokeswoman declared.

DHL Worldwide Express will open its US$100 million express cargo terminal (ECT) in the second quarter of next year without dedicated ramp access at the facility to handle aircraft.
The Asia-Pacific’s leading express operator would unload aircraft, mostly the Air Hong Kong freighter fleet purchased last month with partner Cathay Pacific Airways, at Hongkong Air Cargo Terminals (Hactl), the airport’s biggest freight handler, DHL said.
The cargo will then be transferred to what is designed to be its self-handling express centre. It will use its space at Hactl but continue to use the dock to load and unload aircraft.
