Yesterday the French post office, La Poste, made official its appointment of Paul-Marie Chavanne as chairman of Geopost, its parcels and logistics holding company.

La Poste has two years to develop its network, says GeoPost executives
FRENCH POSTAL organisation La Poste and parcels subsidiary GeoPost have no more than two years in which to complete the development of their European express/parcels network.
That, at least, was the view expressed by Claude Begle, GeoPost general manager, at the recent 12th World Mail & Express Conference.
SWITZERLAND: DPD IS AMBITIOUS
DPD Deutscher Paket Dienst GmbH & Co, in which French La Poste has a 85% holding, plans to merge the Swiss companies DPD Ost and DPD West into DPD Switzerland AG. The latter will be controlled by Geneva-based GeoPost Switzerland S.A. DPD Switzerland aims to invest around SFr 20mn in Switzerland in order to benefit from the lucrative parcel delivery business.
