Emirates Post offers related services along with direct mailing

Emirates Post has announced that it would provide customers with optional services including the use of a large and exclusive database and printing and outsourcing services along with the recently launched Direct Mailing Service (DMS).

According to Sawsan Al Diwani, Assistant Director General, Development and Marketing Affairs of Emirates Post, the DMS was designed to help promote customers’ products and services by ensuring a responsive audience.

Emirates Post slashes courier service charges

A series of initiatives have been approved at a meeting of the Board of Directors of Emirates Post.

The new measures include reduction in Mumtaz mail charges from Dh40 to Dh10, as well as a project offering direct marketing services through the company’s database and a plan for a three-storey post-office building in the Al Falah area of Abu Dhabi at a cost of Dh40 million.The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ahmad Humaid Al Tayer, UAE Minister of Communications, at the Emirates Post headquarters in Dubai.

Emirates Post Signs Deal With Swiss Post

Emirates Post recently signed an agreement with Global Alliance of Transportation Systems (GATS), the UK-based subsidiary of Swiss Post International, to distribute European mail to the Gulf and Middle East countries, through Emirates Post’s Dubai Airport Mail Transit Hub. The agreement was signed by Mr. Abdulla Al Daboos, Director General of Emirates Post and Dr. Ulrich Gygi, Chief Executive Officer, Swiss Post International, in Berne. The deal, valid for five years, authorizes Emirates Post to handle GATS’ mail addressed to Middle East countries using the state-of-the-art Mail Transit Hub located at Dubai International Airport.

Unlicensed operators barred from UAE Postal Service

Unlicenced operators cannot transport mail and documents within the UAE, Emirates Post clarified yesterday. The Emirates Post is the only official organisation in the UAE authorised to handle movement of letters, parcels, documents and other postal items, besides registered local and international companies.

Federal Law No. 8 (2001), which established the Emirates Post Corporation, states in Clause No. 4 that Emirates Post is the sole authorised organisation to handle postal services mentioned in the law, and it can give this right to other registered companies based on official contracts within the framework of the law.Abdulla Al Daboos, Director General of Emirates Post, said: “Clause No. 8 authorises Emirates Post issues licences to private parties to transport documents and mail, on payment of prescribed fees and after the approval of the Emirates Post board of directors.”
