Posten has wholly and part-owned subsidiaries in Denmark, Finland and Norway and soaring growth in the Danish delivery market has necessitated new investment. Finland Post faces tough slog with Digital Mailbox

Finland Post is scaling down expectations for its Netposti digital mailbox service and has discontinued some of the value-added services surrounding it.

The post signed up about 150,000 people in the first 20 months but in the following 20 months it only managed to recruit 61,000 for a total of 210,000 users.

Finland Post Corporation (Suomen Posti Oyj) reported on Thursday (6 May) an operating profit of EUR29.3m on turnover of EUR313.0m for the financial period January-March 2004.

Both operating profit and turnover for the three-month period increased, respectively by 14percent and by 9percent, as compared to the corresponding period in 2003.
