La Poste's Sofipost to Acquire 10% of ELTA

La Poste unit Sofipost has been pre-selected to acquire 10 pct of Greek state postal service ELTA, according to the Greek transport and communications ministry. Sofipost, which was the only candidate, could also acquire 50 pct of ELTA’s high-speed delivery service, pending final agreement, the ministry said.

Frances La Poste says needs to increase financial products to compete

Martin Vial, president of La Poste, said an increase in the variety of financial products offered by the postal network, including the ability to offer credit to clients, is necessary for the group to compete in an increasingly liberalised market.
French law prohibits La Poste from offering credit, but Vial said he hopes to create partnerships with financial institions, similar to alliances already made with CNP Assurance or the Caisse des Depots et des Consignations (CDC).
“La Poste can no longer do everything on its own; it is necessary to form alliances and partnerships,” Vial said in an interview with French financial daily La Tribune.

FedEx serves up a five year sponsorship deal with French Tennis Federation

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. will become an official sponsor of the French Tennis Open, one of the four Grand Slam events of tennis. The five year agreement with the French Tennis Federation entitles FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company, to a number of core sponsorship rights beginning with this year’s French Open tournament at the home of French tennis, Roland Garros.
