In its own workds, the French postal service is ‘France‘s largest employer‘. Currently, La Poste has 330,000 on its payroll. Whereas state-owned and state-managed postal services in many other countries of the EU have been steadily reducing their headcount over the years, the French company has decided to go in the opposite direction.

French law prohibits La Poste from offering credit, but Vial said he hopes to create partnerships with financial institions, similar to alliances already made with CNP Assurance or the Caisse des Depots et des Consignations (CDC).
“La Poste can no longer do everything on its own; it is necessary to form alliances and partnerships,” Vial said in an interview with French financial daily La Tribune.
FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. will become an official sponsor of the French Tennis Open, one of the four Grand Slam events of tennis. The five year agreement with the French Tennis Federation entitles FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company, to a number of core sponsorship rights beginning with this year’s French Open tournament at the home of French tennis, Roland Garros.
