FedEx Express has announced a new, direct served flight into Greece as part of the company’s commitment to strengthening its intercontinental services to Europe. The new route recognises Greece’s growing position in the global marketplace and shortens transit times for customers exporting from Asia, the US, and many parts of Europe.

The study, which this year also covers the ten new EU Member States, confirms the trend towards price increases and highlights the remarkable gaps that exist among current Member States and between them and the accession countries. The FFPI’s research shows that the wide price differences registered in 2002 have not been reduced and that tariffs have in most States registered further raises. reviews have been filed by postal operators in some countries where decisions are still pending and will likely be taken in 2004.

JP Morgan has strengthened its Greek business by winning the mandate to privatise the country’s Post Savings Bank, a year after hiring Harry Adamopoulos to run its investment banking business there. Nikos Christodoulakis, the Greek Finance Minister, was reported to have said that between 35% and 40% of Post Savings Bank will be sold in an international tender. Post Savings Bank is eventually expected to list on the Athens stock exchange.
