Dragonair to offer express parcel service from July 28

Ken Chih, OOCL’s chief information officer, said: “We’ve just signed a three-year deal with Hewlett Packard (HP) for it to host CargoSmart. We recognised that if a neutral
party didn’t host it, we wouldn’t get other carriers using it.”
OOCL has set a 30 June deadline for the carriers to decide whether they want to take up to a 20% of the portal.
HONGKONG Post has threatened a postage increase after its United Kingdom counterpart allegedly exploited a loophole to set up a delivery company in the SAR, causing it to lose $9 million in the first three months of the year. Incoming mail from the UK plummeted 36 per cent in the period compared with that of last year, Hongkong Post said. It attributed the drop to a new practice – established in October – under which mail from the UK is brought in by the company and selectively delivered to major business areas and densely populated areas
