Post Danmark preferred bidder for De Post-La Poste Belgium

The Danish postal service, Post Danmark, Friday said it and CVC Capital Partners Ltd. are the preferred bidder for a 50%-minus one share stake in De Post-La Poste, the Belgian postal service. Post Danmark said it and CVC, which holds a 22% in Post Danmark, are now in exclusive talks with the Belgian state and De Post-La Poste. The companies provided no financial details, and will make public the results of their negotiations in September, Post Danmark said.

TNT not participating in sales process of Belgian Post

TNT today announces that it is not participating in the sales process launched by the Belgian Government to sell a minority stake in Belgian De Post/La Poste (‘DP/LP’). TNT has stated in the past that, under the right conditions it would be interested in a stake in the DP/LP. TNT has now stopped investigating the possibilities to enter into a partnership. TNT’s European mail expansion strategy focuses on stepping into attractive postal markets, by building up its own networks and by creating alliances with the incumbent postal operators.

Belgian postal services company De Post/La Poste plans to launch online sales of postage stamps, it was reported on May 3, 2005. De Post/La Poste’s new service will allow customers to order postage stamps online and to print them.
