Mexican Sepomex and USPS sign new Security Protocol

The Mexican Postal Service (Sepomex) and the United States Postal Service (USPS), the largest mail system in the world, will sign on Wednesday the so-called “Mexico City Postal Security Protocol” agreement, reported Gustavo Islas, director of Sepomex.

This will increase the volume of mail and packages that both countries receive, and will be largely to the benefit of those Mexicans that live in the United States, stated Islas. “The protocol consists of boosting the security measures to safeguard postal service integrity, quality and control,” explained the official.

USPS and Estafeta USA sign licensing agreement

The United States Postal Service have announced the signing of a licensing agreement with Estafeta USA Inc., a leading private courier company in Mexico, which allows the company limited usage of the U.S. Postal Service logo.

Estafeta USA Inc. links to the U.S. Postal Service domestic delivery network by clearing inbound packages originating in Mexico through U.S. Customs, transporting them into the United States, and tendering them to the U.S. Postal Service at the McAllen, Texas post office as domestic Priority Mail.

Mail Boxes Etc aims to have 300 Mexican outlets in ten years

The Mail Boxes Etc company, the world’s largest franchisor of retail shipping, postal and business service centers, has announced the launch of a new master license agreement in Mexico, which will create 300 service centers in the country over the next ten years. This will involve an investment of around USD40mil and the generation of 1,500 new jobs.

DHL opens Latin America Ex-Log offices

DHL has opened two new Express Logistics Centers (ELCs) in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and Mexico City.

DHL currently operates 50 Strategic Parts Centers (SPC) in the region, and the original Express Logistics Center in Miami.
