SingPost's courier system fully wireless

SINGAPORE Post has fully implemented homegrown NewsPage’s wireless Tracks solution in its island-wide courier package operations, making it one of the first postal agencies in the Asia-Pacific to deploy a wireless courier system.
Tracks allows information on the latest job status, collection and delivery to be updated into the backend system, said SingPost. The real-time information enables SingPost’s customers to trace their packages via the Internet, allowing SingPost to take prompt action to resolve problems.

FedEx picks up four major awards

FEDEX Express, the world’s largest express transportation company, received four major awards at the 16th Asian Freight Industry Awards 2002 organised by Cargonews Asia in Singapore recently.
The awards were for Best Air Cargo Carrier – North America, Best All Cargo Airline, Best Road Haulier (trucking) – Asia, and Best Total Logistics Operator.
The winners were chosen from nominations by 13,000 senior industry professionals throughout Asia to nominate the best companies in 37 categories denoting industry sector and the four major trading areas in the world, namely Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
