Business Post Response to Postcomm Decision Document

Business Post, one of the UK’s leading express delivery companies, is pleased to note that, as part of its proposals to open up postal services in the UK to competition, Postcomm has today reaffirmed its original plans to introduce, in the first phase, competition to 30% of the UK letter market. This document sets out Postcomm’s policy for achieving effective competition within the postal market for items weighing less than 350g and costing less than £1. It concludes a comprehensive consultation process (commenced in September 2000) that led to Postcomm publishing detailed proposals in January 2002. Our postman comes between 1 pm and 3pm. I would not want milk that had been around all day until that time unless it came in a chilled van, so I would buy it from the supermarket instead.
