Sheffield-based haulage group Motorfast has doubled its portfolio of pallet customers from 55 to more than 100 since joining Fortec a year ago, the pallet distribution network has announced.
“Our recent success is all the more encouraging when you take into account that we have moved into pallets fairly recently from the parcels sector, ” Motorfast MD John Bailey said.

A network of 22 Palletways depots stretching from Colchester to Southampton will deliver pallets bound for destinations in London and the south-east of England into the 4,000sq m facility in Greenford.

Shadow minister Michael Fabricant said the Royal Mail failed to meet all 15 delivery targets for the last financial year.
The scrapping of the second delivery was causing “havoc” for mail order and other businesses.

Figures obtained by the Standard show more than a quarter of the capital’s branches are set to go. Since December 2002, 190 post offices in the capital have either been shut or earmarked for closure. Another 120 may also be at risk.
Critics claim the cutbacks will change permanently the face of London’s high streets. They say post offices are crucial to the commercial future of some areas.
