Portugal – PT, postal service contract to be examined

Portugal Telecom (PT) and CTT-Correios de Portugal (both Portugal), postal service, have seen the Portuguese Economy Ministry ask the national competition watchdog to examine a no-bid contract between the two firms. The 10-year deal calls for PT to provide and manage telecoms services for the postal services. Financial terms of the contract have not been disclosed. The contract, awarded without bidding, has been questioned by PT rivals.
