Deutsche Post renames foreign mail service

The international letter services of Deutsche Post, the German postal service operator, will now also undergo a change of name in Europe, from Deutsche Post Global Mail to DHL Global Mail. Through the name change for its global activities, the group aims to increas the significance of DHL further as its international brand. Domestic and international letter services in Germany will continue to be operated under the name of Deutsche Post.

Mailshots from seven Western Europe countries to Austria through DPGM

Österreichische Post AG and Deutsche Post Global Mail GmbH have concluded a cooperation agreement for distributing Infomail and Infopost items (addressed and unaddressed mailshots) to Austria from France, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain, Denmark and Switzerland. The agreement calls for Deutsche Post Global Mail, a subsidiary of Deutsche Post World Net, to distribute mailshot dispatches to Austria from these countries for the Austrian Post.

Deutsche Post Global Mail (DPGM) has appointed a new managing director of its Australia and New Zealand operations. Ken Mouldey joins the international mail service from FedEx, where he held senior management positions over nine years, most recently heading up Australian interstate operations. His Sydney-based position began yesterday.

Germans offer alternative to Australia Post

If you are sending mail abroad, there is a new alternative to Australia Post: the Germans.

Pack & Send, the national postal and packaging retail franchise, teamed up with Deutsche Post Global Mail last month to offer customers the Global Mail Packet, for the worldwide delivery of parcels weighing less than two kilograms.

“Deutsche Post Global Mail came to us because they wanted to enter the small business market by leveraging off our retail network,” said Pack & Send’s managing director, Michael Paul . “The alliance will allow us to provide the market with an alternative to Australia Post.”

DPGM has worked in Australia since July 2000, but has concentrated on bulk, business-to-business deliveries rather than small parcels.
