Yodel announces new CEO

UK independent parcel carrier, Yodel, has appointed Mike Hancox as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Mike, who will start at Yodel on the 19th September, is an experienced CEO with a proven track record in driving successful business transformation in a broad range of sectors.

Mike will take over from Andrew Peeler, who is due to depart from Yodel at the start of next month.

Yodel executive chairman, John Hughes, commented: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Hancox, a highly accomplished CEO with outstanding management skills and an excellent knowledge of both retail and logistics industries. We look forward to him joining the business and becoming a driving force in Yodel’s future success.”

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew for all his hard work during his time at Yodel. He has been an engaging and highly visible leader across all Yodeloperations, playing an important role in developing the business whilst creating a company-wide ethos that seeks to put people at the heart of everything we do.

For the last two years, Mike Hancox has acted as non-executive director of delivery software company Sorted as well as non-executive Chairman at retail services company Sigma.

He has previously held leadership positions at large e-commerce retailers including Ideal Shopping Direct, and Shop Direct. Mike was also CEO of Otto Group in the UK and is currently chairman of global marketplace platform Fruugo, giving him an ideal background for the role.

Mike Hancox said: “I am delighted to be joining Yodel at an exciting time in the company’s history. The company has a strong market position, supportive shareholders and quality people throughout the business.”
